DS has been told no rooster , there are less eggs than student I believe this year hopefully we get one as Greygrey was nearly 3 years old ,DDs chook . Our girls are happy DS is spending a little time after we get home from the bus but homework is a needed activity too .

Big storm last night , thunder was so loud , took me ages to get back to sleep , warm again this morning, DH would love it to rain heaps but we keep missing it , rainfall travelling south .

DH ordered them the night before delivery and that is all they had available. I did look at thier feet and think they would be good for stock , just for a moment! No way my kids would never talk to me again . We have the same problem , Fox’s are too smart . Think these will lay much earlier too . DS hatches chickens this term , he may get to keep one . DD did the same and we only lost hers a few months ago .

Steamed corned silverside , DS said it was very tender . Not bad but I use to make a nicer sauce this one had cream and think I’ll search for the old recipe next time . Still amazing . First 90 minuets cooked while I collected DS from the bus , came home still another 25 mins , then added the potatoes 45minutes done . Made the sauce and green vegetables .

Thank you Chookie . DS spent hours cleaning out the chook shead and clearing branches of dead trees around the garden while DH pushes them over with the tractor .

A big search for DS phone , my gosh we looked everywhere twice , found this afternoon tucked in the car door pocket on a ledge - I looked in that pocket too . A little bit of gardening DD sat on the rider mower and mowed the back garden for pocket money . Think it brighten her day to be able to do something. We all spent some time with the new chooks , they are very shy . More cuddles and time tomorrow. DH got the huge tractor and moved dead pine trees away .

Knee is getting better hoping to do more physo this weekend , DD has managed this week at school .
6 Rhode red hens arrived, 14 weeks old they are very easly scared. DD and DS spent some time with then after school .

Wow amazing growing your own Pinapple . Chookie the photos are great , like others the strawberry growing idea would be great , the Quince tree looks big must be old . We have bees in our old chimney top the bees are well settled in unfortunately as not able to get the honey up there and the bee men are not around they generally say send the council, so the bees remain my worry is on a very hot day they swam .

Gosh what an experience Chookie .
Made lots of Christmas cakes today at school , my job was to put the mixture and weigh in the tins . Annual event 500 cakes are made in a week ( lots of prep work done before ) . Team effort . Dropped DS at school before , he was pleased of the extra time in the morning .

Very busy Judy . What fun to be part of such special wedding memories Cookie . Chookie enjoy your time at Dunkield kitchen garden .
Last day of school holidays, off to parent teacher interviews and DD to boarding house with her crutches and leg brace .. could say that these holidays have been full on with family injury and illnesses and driving to appointments . Such a nice sunny weekend even got outside and helped DS clean out the chook house , hoping to get some new chooks this week as we only have lucky who DS let escape fore the day and thought the back door was a nice place to live .
