That news is upsetting and what a great shame about your reaction, Judy.  The positive part of this, though, is that you got the chance to experiment with different foods, textures and tastes and will be able to use and adapt them as time goes on and your system settles down once more.

To everyone else who hasn't experienced anything adverse or negative in the recent past ... look after yourselves and take care ... no more accidents or illnesses, we on the forum have had enough  between us to last all of us for months into the future  :)

Ok my finger burn is nothing to everyone else’s mishaps . Marina take care of both legs now . Judy at lest you have discovered new ways to eat yummy foods slowly  . About to go to post office to collect my new Dinners 2 Skinnymixers cookbook . I’ve cooked do much already out of this book . Getting the ebook straight away is a game changer . I’ve printed a lot of recipes off , so might see if DD wants them ! Mind you that’s clutter so she might just want the download copy . ! Preparing for DS coming home tomorrow, it’s so long between breaks . I miss him even when he is here as straight out to help DH or asleep . Normally I ask the young adults what they would like to have for dinner ! Think it might be steak ! Better think of a dessert too so he is not too hungry . Doing his last exam today so cannot ask him.

Marina, you certainly have had an awful time with your foot and now your leg.
Katy, steam burns can be very nasty I hope yours is healing now..  A couple of months ago when I was straining the vegetables the lid on the saucepan slipped and the boiling water went over my hand.
Judy, I'm sorry to hear that you were unwell when you came back from Chookies.  I'm sure you will be able to use some of the new ideas and be able to introduce them to your diet slowly.

I've had a very busy couple of days with appointments.  I saw the gastrologist at the local hospital yesterday to discuss what the gastrologist at Clayton had to say and to discuss my hospital visit and results.
This morning I had blood tests done and then a visit to my doctor in the afternoon.  It's been a busy day with more appointments to come.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Mab, Judy and Marina too many Dr visits , but essential. Over the last year I also have had a series of medical appointments. Hate then. Not good at coping with this so I feel for what you are all going through. However things are settling down for me and I hope soon for you.

Yesterday had lunch with Probus at Graigs hotel in Ballarat. Enjoyable meal and company.
Cleaning the silver and preparing for Sunday afternoon tea for Probus ladies.

We’re mostly in that age bracket now that all seem to have constant appointments Chookie but a break every now and then would be nice. You should have asked me to clean the silver whilst you cooked, not a job that anyone really likes.

Margaret hopefully your latest appts will have helpful results, specialists putting their heads together is a good thing. Yes I’m taking it slowly increasing food intake until I get to see a Dietician, biggest change is to be eating some lunch.

Margaret, I also hope you have good follow up following your appointments.

Good that you are eating more now Judy.  Take it easy and don't force yourself though ... small steps are best!

I was at the surgeon's review yesterday, he is happy with my progress and I no longer need to wear the moon boot at night - what a relief.  I have also started using crutches which, much to my surprise, I am coping with quite well, but still using the knee scooter as a security device for now.

That’s great that you’re able to discard the moon boot in bed Marina. I guess practice makes perfect with any disability aid.

I dug lots of holes across the back fence before going away, a friend was caring for the first lot of plants I’d bought before going away (4 magnolia little gems) so he is coming with them this afternoon. We had 12mm overnight, that helped me made the holes slightly bigger this morning for an easier fit. No sooner came inside and it poured again, great timing.

Yesterday DH and I went and did the shopping. We ate lunch out . DS traveled home , thankfully we had progress reports all day . It’s a nearly seven hour drive straight. So breaks are needed . Think it was after 6 pm when walked in the door . Today the boys ,well all of us in the end fixed the weather unit outside (it’s freezing) one of the springs fell off that connects to the batteries !! It was hard to find . Now I know it’s only got to 9 degrees today and it’s falling fast .
On a side note our mother cat has been disappearing for the day and not home quite a few nights , so we got her a collar !! She came home late last night so DH put it on her ! Gone not seen all day now !

Mab, hope some progress is made for you.
Judy, no way would I spoil your visit by asking you to clean the silver. It was bad enough you following me around cleaning the dishes.
Marina, you are making good progress. What a relief to not wear the Moon boot at night.
Finishing prep for visitors tomorrow. One chair short, have a plastic garden chair, might put cushion on it and cover with a cloth.

That’s good news for a start Marina. A couple of nights ago I had what I’m calling a gastric attack. (I want to be like all my friends on the forum😀😀😀). I sat down to dinner and felt very unwell. DD prescribed somac and mylanta. I began to feel better after a while. I’m still taking the somac as she suggested that would be best. My GP is on holidays, so I will wait until he comes back unless I become unwell. I’m steering very clear of anything with any type of fat in it. 😀😀😀😀

My friends are giving me a good laugh today, on the forum and via message on phone. It must be ‘make a friend laugh day’.  Yes cookie, you’ve joined that group along with Chookie. I hope it settles down.

Thanks Judy.
The last few days we have had red tailed cockatoos coming to eat our olives. They mainly like the green ones, and split them open and eat the centre of the nut inside it. I love watching them and listening to them. You can hear them crunching the inside of the olive kernel .  They manage to make a good mess too.

The birds look good, Cookie, they can be very destructive, but that's part of Australia

I am back downstairs in the office for a few hours - the first time since I got out of hospital on Tuesday - did I tell you had to go in to hospital again last Sunday after my knee scooter toppled over and left me with a horrible gash on one of my knees which entailed two nights in hospital and another operation - this is my other leg, so I now have two "gammy" legs!

From the sounds of it, this is the "if anything can go wrong it will go wrong" season, so everyone take care and look after yourselves.
