It was lovely weather today. I caught up with the ironing, again‼️ made some red onion pickle.

A neighbour is visiting today. She is thinking of buying an AF. She wants to look at my Phillips and Ninja.
My gardener , who also does odd jobs is coming to install a new timer on my irrigation system. Also to look at a sliding door that is sticking.

Part 1 of a nasty root canal - the dentist was expecting trouble and thought that I might actually lose the tooth, but, much to his (and my) relief everything has gone smoothly.  Part 2 is in a couple of weeks.

Very brave Marina. I was amazed when I had mine done last year, nothing hurt at all.

My procedure was pain free as well - however, once the anesthetic wore off it was sore for a couple of hours but quickly settled down.

Thank heavens the days of Dentist torture are over.
I had a blood test yesterday. Normally it is a shocking procedure. They stick the needle in and wobble it around hoping to find blood. Yesterday I tried a new small clinic, walking distance from home.  One lady looked at my arm and said she didn’t think she could do it. Called the other lady. She inserted needle and blood flowed. I couldn’t believe it. Afterwards, not even a sign of where the needle went in. I returned with a pot of jam for each. One for honestly recognising that she wasn’t up to the task and the second miracle worker.  Their delight at the unexpected gift was lovely.

Chookie your cooking brings so much joy to others . Yesterday helped a DGF out with Air BB change over . We worked like mad the last few hours , just made it ! Multiple bed changes and a very good clean topped off with a shower head replacement. But bonus we got to talk all day and meanwhile at home Crutching was being done with help of DS DD . They were all very hungry when I eventually got home . Crutching again today so another cooking up for morning tea .

Chookie I understand completely, They never seemed to be able to get blood from me even if they got the needle into the right place, sometimes it would start to run then just stop dead. I had them puzzled for years but nowadays I always have success at my local pathology centre, not so good in hospitals though. The nurse always has to call a doctor to do it.  Loved what you did for these ladies.

Thanks . I keep a small box with small jars of jam in the car. If someone looks a bit sad or does me a good deed I give them a pot. It’s nice to brighten up someone’s day.
Yesterday I booked a trip on the Ghan with a couple of side trips with Outback Spirit. My biggest worry was the Airport. Ral was very good at navigating this. DD has offered to fly with me to Adelaide. Judy, hope we might catch up. Late July. ( coldest and wettest time in Ballarat ).

Chookie my DH always wanted to do the Ghan . But we can never be organised to do a year ahead . I’d agree with the airport it’s very organised but most things seem to be done on your phone . But there are ways around making it easy too . Crutching last day ! Another warm week coming . DD will go home today .

I hope we can catch up too Chookie, have not yet decided where and when our next cruise will happen. I’ll give you a ring on Sunday night.

Because it has been such a windy day I decided to strip the spare single bed and washed a pair of woollen blankets, a woollen underlay and the sheets.  Everything dried nicely and is now back on the bed.

I also fancied doing a trip on the Ghan, but not sure when, or if, it will ever happen.  It will be a brilliant trip, Chookie - with the bonus of catching up with Judy at the end.

Started planning our trip to Europe later in the year.  DH has his trade congress and, as I am having a 'significant' birthday shortly after, we will stay on and be joined by my DS and DH's siblings for a week or so travelling around to celebrate my birthday.  So many places to choose from, it is overwhelming, but fun!
