Mab, I know exactly how you feel. Ral cut his knee badly ( I could see the bone) with the chain saw, TWICE. first time I drove him to Kyneton hospital. ( early evening) I didn’t know it was a day hospital, with a few beds and no Dr on duty at night. Nurse in charge said 2 choices. Ambulance to Melbourne or she could try stitching it up. She cleaned it up as well as she could and stitched it up. That was his choice. She did an excellent job, but couldn’t give him any thing for the infection. Weeks later , after many Dr visits for the infection he was ok. Several years later he did it again.
