Judy, lovely to see you again. Glad all went well with your holiday.
3 friends coming tomorrow to make Hot X Buns. Starting at 10.00am. Will prepare lunch today. The cabinet maker that I have used for several projects, is building a display kitchen. He has asked me to test his oven as he is selling it as a unit. He is a perfectionist and doesn’t want to sell anything that’s not perfect.
Marina, my DS gave me a power bank for my birthday. Going to be very handy. I was surprised by how long it took to charge.

Supermarket shopping this morning.  A visit from DD and GD this afternoon.

I went for another lot of blood tests and then did my grocery shopping.

A little retail therapy is good after blood tests Cookie.
Yesterday I taught 4 friends how to make Hot X Buns. I was surprised at how different they all were in the shapes and general look of the buns.
Today , same with a neighbour.  Then making a funny hat for the Easter Parade tomorrow.
Tomorrow is the largest and biggest event in our Probus events year. They call it fish Friday.

I was busy this morning so my dear DH vacuumed and washed floors.

I was exhausted after our Probus Fish Friday. 5 hours + of being social and eating. I can now talk to most of the club members. There were 65 at the lunch. I think I spoke to most during the day. Today, washing and recovering.

Yesterday I attended a birthday party for a young man who attends my Gym. He is handicapped. He turned 50 and I had a devil of a problem finding an appropriate gift. His mental age is between 8 and 11. I finally decided on a couple of books. One simple puzzles and a sticker book. He had several friends attend. All with carers. The carers are very special people. How they manage I don’t know.

How lovely to be invited Chookie. We have friends who have an intellectually handicapped son around a similar age. He loves colouring books and his latest thing is the sets you buy from K Mart and similar where you stick bead things onto a picture, or bag or similar. He also loves stamp collecting. He’s a really lovely person.

Sometimes the nicest things happen . A friend gave me a big bag of Bramley Apples. I did a bit of research and decided to bake some for DD Birthday lunch. They were beautiful. Held their shape but were fluffy inside. A lovely gift to share. ( I filled the core hole with walnuts and dried some cherries and sprinkled cinnamon sugar on top. )
Cleaning and washing today.

We had a car run today. It was rather lengthy. We met at 8am and didn’t get home until well after 4.  As usual. Lots of fun though. We stopped and looked at an old Model A that was left under a fig tree, many years ago.

Love the photo of that old Model A

Because I couldn't get onto the forum last week (is it just me, or was it down again?) I've actually got some catching up to do.  Over Easter DH painted our bedroom - because he used lime wash paint and the walls in the room are brick it was a hard, hard job for him getting into all the wee holes and gaps between each brick and it really wore him out.  Once you start using this paint you cannot stop because, if you do, you end up with all sorts of ugly 'pause' marks on the finished wall.  He had to do one undercoat and two top coats, each coat took him c. 8 hours of non-stop painting, it was really hard work for him.  On the fourth day he started assembling the new Ikea wardrobe but didn't have time to finish it.

Meanwhile, I had my sacral nerve stimulator removed which meant that I can now safely have an MRI and my foot surgeon promptly sent me off to have one.  The outcome is I have some stress in my foot and am back in my moonboot - it is great, for the first time in ages I can walk without pain.  The plan is to have a cortisone injection in my foot before we go away so that I can walk without pain.  I may have to take my moonboot with me, we will see.

Both DH and I have had COVID and flu injections in advance of our trip in a couple of weeks.  Today I have an appointment with my GP, then I have a follow up  appointment with the surgeon who removed my stimulator.

Whist we are away we have a formal dinner to attend.  Dress code is "elegant" - I hate to use the saying, but, OMG, I don't have an elegant bone in my body so I am now panicking trying to find something appropriate and having no luck whatsoever - I don't want to get something too expensive as I will probably never wear it again so it is a huge dilemma.

Other than all of that, all is good - the sun is shining it is a beautiful and mainly warm autumn and I am enjoying the milder weather and all the seasonal colour in the countryside.

Marina, don’t give up on the ‘ elegant’. I think you can do it.
Tai Chi starts again today and then followed by Book Club.

Marina it's hard to go passed a timeless little black outfit that you can dress up of down to suit the occassion.

A visit to the doctor after my recent little stay in hospital.  All good.  We had out flu injections as well.

The last week has been busy . We had DS birthday dinner on the weekend before he left for uni !! Made a beautiful meal of slow cooked lamb shanks and bimby chocolate cake with candles that the flame is in colours. DD was home for a week so that was great too . We had a few things on but the biggest was Good Friday fish and chips lunch ( for Good Friday appeal ) we served 250 meals !! My arm was sore lucky I only did and hour of serving so we could eat hot f&chips together. Today it’s all catching up with me , migraine, DH said I’ve eaten too much Easter chocolate!!
