Cookie David Sedaris is a very funny guy. Love his books and views on life.

Gert

Thanks for that Gert. I think it is 24th January we are going to listen to him. I hope to have read a couple of his books by then.

Just finished "Sycamore Row" by John Grisham and now onto "The Gods of Guilt" by Michael Connelly.

I've read The Elegance cookie. Not the most exciting book, sort of plods along like a hedgehog possibly, but like a lot of foreign films and quite realistic.
Totally agree CP, spot on.
Just started The Luminaries, think it's going to take me a while!

Read The Washerwoman's Daughter while away. My first cover to cover read in what seems like years. Hard to put down. Now I've got the reading bug. Looking forward to sourcing some more from here from the library.

I've just started Di Morrissey's latest The Winter Sea. So far it isn't bad. They are a light read usually set some where in Australia.

I've got Wonder waiting for me to collect at the library.  Thanks for the recommendation.

Just read a young adult novel by a NZ author that was on the recommended list by the library staff.  Brainjack by Brian Falkner.  It was okay - I think I will recommend it to my 13yr old bookaholic nephew, but didn't appeal to me as much as some (but then I'm not really the target demographic).

Finally finished The Luminaries, really enjoyed it but still scratching my head trying to work out the plot, which is a bit frustrating after reading over 800 pages! Keep thinking about it which I guess is the sign of a good book.
Need something completely different so have just downloaded my first Harry Bosch book - Black Echo.

Dee dub I'm reading the luminaries now. The first chapter I found extremely boring - couldn't follow what was being said, and often caught myself daydreaming with eyes not even fixed on the page. My sister thoroughly enjoyed it and said it has a complex plot, so after a couple of weeks I've made it somehow to chapter 2. It can only get better.

Careful Deedub you'll get hooked.

Just had to toss 4  freebies out after reading less than a chapter of each. Doesn't matter as for every few which are all but unreadable you find a gem.

The program for the Adelaide writers Week is out today so must see who and what. Thinking of going again this year.

I'm Reading a Dutch thriller, so that's of no interest for you, but I recently read "Stoner" by John Williams, and found that really worthwhile. Besides these books, I read a lot of cooking books.   😊😊
