Mum used to steam hers in a cloth Mab. I think she used a recipe from her CWA book. She used to steam a jam roly poly too. I must make that as it was delicious.
yesterday i made a very rich slice from Bec's Table. It has a chocolate base and a topping of peanut butter and white chocolate. DD took it to work, apart from 3 slices we had.

Yesterday I chopped up dried fruit and drowned it in brandy ,for my mums recipe of Ice Cream Plum pudding . No matter what we are doing for xmas we will have a dessert . Should make a second for DD when she gets home in the new year !! But I ran out of golden raisins.. they are very hard to find . Coles had melady raisins , but none now . Now if I think about it I use to find them a few months before Christmas!!
K Atie, as I had an idle moment at work yesterday I thought I would see if I could find the golden raisins for you.  I tried Aldi, Terra Madre, The Source and Coles but, like you, I had no luck I am afraid.

I haven’t seen golden raisins around recently. I’d use sultanas instead. Bit larger and darker.
Making the custard for tarts for tomorrow, take a plate afternoon tea.
Made a Wholemeal loaf in Bread machine yesterday.

Thank you Marina very kind of you . Think maybe I’ll just use up the other rains if I make a second ice cream plum pudding. Best I get on to making it soon .

I also saw some golden raisins on Amazon, but I think they were in America and were extortionately expensive.

I made one of Thermomumma’s giant loaves today. DH asked me to make some square bread. (Lid on). He wanted it without seeds and only white flour. A young friend is coming tomorrow and a few other days. They are building another Model A Speedster. We will be giving him lunch, but I know he enjoys SD bread. Men‼️

With weather near 40 on Boxing Day, ( this is our Xmas day). I may be hosting now. DD has the space and pool but is too close to Creswick if the fire there gets going again. I have better A/C but less space. About 15 people. Think I’ll cook Almond crackle biscuits. Gluten free , everyone likes them and they keep.
