Marina, that is amazing. I’ve had disasters but never like that.

No cooking today.
I’ve made over 140 jars of preserves in the last year. I’m surprised but know this is so as I’ve used 140 labels of those that I had printed. Most has been made in small batches in the TMX. 3/4 of the fruit and jars have been donated as has some of the sugar. I have enough in storage for this year for Probus. They give jam as prizes and for birthdays at the Book Club. I also give a lot away. I’ve created fruit pastes as an alternative to Quince paste, to eat with cheese. They can also be thinned to use as a marinade. The TMX is very good for making these.
A friend has set up a Gin distillery in Tassie and part of the process is to strain out the botanicals, ( herbs and spices) I’m looking to see if these can be used in either vinegar or pastes. An interesting challenge.

I can imagine how your DH felt Marina. Upsetting and annoying.
I made some Raisin Oatmeal biscuits today.

I’ve been making Cauli rice in the TMX . I’ve found that steaming it for a minute or two , in an open container , removes the cabbage smell..

That's a question I have often pondered too, Judy. Let's see what Chookie has to say.

What I’ve been making lately, strawberry jam with the sweetest strawberries from Portland . Tomarto relish from cookidoo : two batches . One for us and two small ones for DS to take to uni and the other for DD . Earlier on a batch of ginger snaps biscuits and seriously lemon slice . Vegetarian sausage rolls . That’s all I think .

I’ve made some more sliced pickled onions for my brother. He supplied the onions from his garden and supplied the labour. It’s not too hard with the thermomix slicer. I also made some Tomato Sauce from Bec’s Kitchen recipes. It’s got a nice kick to it.
Yoghurt from Thermogroover.
Also some Thermomumma Wholemeal Bread. I had some supermarket wholemeal flour to use up. It wasn’t the best for feeding my SD starter. I will go up to the flour shop very soon.

Made 11 jars of berry and plum jam. Used Pomegranate juice instead of water for extra flavour boost.
Cauliflower when grated does smell like cabbage to me. I’m rather sensitive to smells so others may not have the same reaction.

Made ‘Spring Rolls’ based on lots of cabbage and other veggies but added thin slices of beef and some curry powder. Microwaved everything first and cooled before wrapping in Spring Rolls pastry. Cooked 10 minutes in AF. Better than I expected.
